In our thriller we concentrated on the genre of a psychological thriller where our main focus is a little girl trying to overcome her fathers death but we distract the audience from this by dragging their attention to the new man renting the room in their house which makes Angelica, the little girl act weird and this is where we center our movie at. We decided to concentrate ourselves on this type of thriller because many young kids can relate to this type of thriller due to things that they may be going through like someone dying that is very close to them. In this 2 minute thriller we used many camera shots like close ups, over the shoulder, mid shots and point of view shots. There's a shot where we done a close up on the girls eyes to make it dramatic for the audience. This girl seems really angry when she see's our protagonist, this is because she has started to hate male's due to her fathers death. During the film we made sure the antagonist was wearing light colours to show her innocence as she is still young and has not done anything that would not make her innocent.

Thank you for your attention!

Who would be the audience

for your Media product?

What kind of media

institution might distribute

your media product

and why?

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

In our thriller we represented different social groups by having one female and one male this showing the different genders. Another way that we represented particular social groups was through age, the little girl was the age of 9 and the young man was of the age of about 21 in the thriller, we done this so that our target audience would be able to relate to them as much they can.

I believe that the audience for our media product would turn out to be teenagers as there more likely to have these types of issues so this meaning from the age of 15 up to the age of 19. As a group we kept it very open cultural wise as our aim would be for everyone to see it without feeling offended. On the British board of film classification, our film fitted perfectly into the age of 15 as there is no nudity, bad language or other scenes where it would have to be classified higher.

i think that due to the content of our thriller and the idea of it the BBC or Film4 would take on our thriller because it would attract the young audience and also will be successful. i am mentioning these small institutions because it would be a start for us meaning it could just be a one off and the big institutions would think about it a lot before risking money on this while the small ones would like to be able to present something that has the possibility of bringing in an audience and possibly success for the company.

How did you attract/ address your audience?

Once we finished our filming and editing we all posted the 2 minute thriller on YouTube and Facebook. On my Facebook account i got comments saying

" it was really good would love to see what happens next!" this being a positive thing. Another comment i received was "it's great although i must say the ending seems a bit weird" to which i replied saying " the ending is meant to me like this as it creates tension and possible thrill as she looks scary in the dark with only a green light.

Daddy's Little

Girl

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

What have you learnt about

technologies from the process of constructing this product?

During the process of producing this 2 minute thriller i have learnt a lot of things like for example how to use premium pro, after affects, how to cut clips, how to edit them, how to use a camera in a constructive etc. Before my AS media lessons i didn't know about premium pro and things like that but now i do. Although i didnt do much to do with editing during the process i did look at ways to use it online like from videos on You tube and also by assisting Wendy while she edited. i pay close attention to the things she done and clicked on so that i knew what was going on. For after effects both me and Mellissa went on You tube to check out how the credits would have been done and we both learnt how to do this.

Our preliminary task was a short conversation between myself and Mellissa just talking about every day things, in this task we tried to put different shots and tried working with the light at school. The preliminary task had nothing to do with our final product as at that stage we were unsure as to what we were going to do but we did look back and think of the different camera shots and angles that we may have used and the comments given to use by our friends and family. In our preliminary task we noticed the background noise and distractions were awful so we took note on this and made sure we applied this experience to our final piece hence why we decided to make it all mute and just put music over it and also to make it much more thrilling and dramatic.
