What you really want

and why it just might kill you

(Luke 13:31-35)

"making the desirable, affordable"

Luke 13:31-35

THELO:

  • to desire to have or experience something
  • to want, to wish
  • to have in mind, to intend, to take delight in, to choose or prefer.

Not all desires are bad (Philippians 3:10-11)

Desire is a powerful gift given by God to human beings.

But like all God-given gifts, it can be twisted and go in one of two directions.

What do you really want?

Herod wants to kill you

What Herod wants

'There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, "Thy will be done," and those to whom God says, in the end, "Thy will be done." All that are in Hell, choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell. No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it. Those who seek find. To those who knock it is opened.'

CS Lewis in 'The Great Divorce'
