God is Personal
John 14:9 "Whoever has seen me has seen the Father." Jesus was a person and understanding him would give you acute insight into God the Father.
In the Bible, God is referred to as male not neuter.
Jesus encourages his disciples to relate to God as Father.
He comes and goes, speaks with, and counsels, man.
He also reveals his thoughts, feelings, and will.
God is not a mere force, source, or mind.
God is a pure Spirit
John 4:24 God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and truth.

The being of God can be clearly perceived but there is so much more to know about God that is revealed in his Word.
1 Cor. 1:21 "the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those that believe."
Do we need the Bible to know God?
God is Perfect
God is infinite in his perfections and perfect in his infinity.
Ex. 15:11 "Who is like you majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds..."
1 Kings 8:27 "...heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you..."
Ps. 96:4-6 "the Lord made the heavens"
Isa. 57:15 "the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place,..."
Jer. 23:24 "Can a man hide himself in secret places... Do I not fill heaven and earth?"
