Potential Costumes for

"Hate This Part Right Here"

By Yasmin Amey and Khushel Valji

Costume 1: Alexis Jordan "Hush Hush"

Clear pop/RnB outfit due to the bright denim jacket that breaks up the dark vest top and tight jeans.

What is more, is that Alexis has decided that in order to be depicted

as the main star in the video, she has decided that a way to stand out is by breaking up her darkened clothing by now wearing

a metal studded sky blue denim jacket alongside

neon blue nails and pink lipstick to make sure that all focus is on her.

Additionally, artist is depicted wearing leather gloves, which shows that she is tough, confident and can stand up for herself. Shes a powerful artist and individual.

Introduction:

Artist's hair has been styled to look bigger and more dramatic to add to her sassy persona.

  • The protagonist and singer of our music video is going to be a sassy, confident and energetic young woman.
  • This is going to be illustrated via the artist’s image and fashion by wearing fashionable clothing that compliments the singer’s body.
  • Whilst browsing the internet I decided to look into music videos which fit the genre characteristic of RnB and pop to see what clothing the singer was required to wear in order to fit into this genre of music, enabling me to gather ideas as to what costumes my artist could wear in an RnB/pop video.

Costume 2:

Pixie Lott "Boys and Girls"

Pixie expresses a more grunge/ rock and roll look which is contradicted with the RnB/pop genre characteristic of her song "Boys and Girls."

Costume 3: Cheryl Cole

"Fight For This Love"

Cheryl is depicted wearing similar clothing to Pixie, that is, wet look leggings alongside a wet look waistoat. Clearly, representing the characteristics of the RnB/Pop genre.

She is depicted wearing

wet look hotpants which is matched with a wet look sleevless waistcoat, alongside

a white and grey leopard print vest top.

Again, similar to Alexis - Pixieis highlighted wearing dark eye make-updrawing attention to herself and promoting the rock and roll

theme which runs throughout the course of her music video.

Additionally, Cheryl also matches Alexis by wearing the same leather, fingerless gloves depicting that she wants to be portrayed as another sassy, confident and tough singer - evidently these characteristics stand out in her song "Fight For This Love," showing shes a true fighter.

Pixie's back up dancers

are seen wearing similar

outfits to the protagonist - by wearing

the same wet look jackets and shorts - suggesting that they are united.

Clearly, this shot of Cheryl exemplifies how she wants all of her audiences attention to be focused on her as she is the star of the music video and therefore all eyes should be on her.
