Plants are often used to decorate spaces; people tend to find gardens calming, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing. It's almost ironic, the way we build housing to shut nature out and then pick and choose which pieces of it to bring inside, and those pieces become domestic and are no longer really considered nature.
That said, when the technology arises to replace live plants, will we continue to appreciate them, domestically or otherwise? Even now decorative plants exist that run on solar energy, just like real plants, but with "improvement" such as movement or lighting. We'd like to play with this idea while emphasizing the irony of the objects.

"Solar Plant"
The idea that we're currently working with for the final project involves the implicate human need to control and "improve" everything around us.
For this we'd like to essentially recreate a plant using human built technology; specifically solar panels. They're a piece of technology that has been built to mimic the way that plants photosynthesize and convert sunlight to usable energy. For our project we'd like to then turn around and "improve" the process natural process that we're actually mocking.
