From modest beginnings, Gannett Fleming was founded in 1915 by Farley Gannett.

Early in 1916, Samuel W. Fleming, Jr. was invited to join the partnership. In May 1916, the firm name was changed to Gannett, Seelye & Fleming.

• Gannett Fleming designed and installed 46 new 26 kilovolt circuit breakers at eight substations and modified control systems
