1. Design, develop, and test a digital learning game to demonstrate knowledge and skills related to curriculum content.

In a class studying the founding of the United States create an online scavanger hunt. Provide them with a series of descriptions and/or questions relating to people, places, and things from the time period.

Have them search the internet for what they believe matches.

They must link the site that they believe shows the connect between the answer and the description/questioned.

2. Create and publish an online art gallery with examples and commentary that demonstrate an understanding of different historical periods, cultures, and countries.

In a history class, a slideshow can be created to show the order in which the Presidents in the United States were elected.

Make it interesting. Spice it up. Students are easily bored.

If your skilled enough animate the gallery using flash or other such programs.

It can then be posted to a share site such as youtube for your students to view.

MAKE SURE TO GIVE THEM THE LINK!

5. Identify a complex global issue, develop a systematic plan of investigation, and present

innovative sustainable solutions.

Begin by introducing poverty to the classroom and break the students up into groups. Have each group search the internet for the causes of poverty throughout American History. Have them brainstorm possible solutions to the problem. End by having each group presenting their findings and solutions.

8. Model legal and ethical behaviors when using information and technology by properly selecting, acquiring, and citing resources

In the first week of a history class set aside time to teach your students how to tell the difference between primary and secondary sources. And make clear which web-sites are considered good for research.

Make clear that not everything on the internet is factual.

...is a complete lie.

Finally, show them how to properly cite the source.
