Reassuring & Heroic

Throughout the lyrics, the speaker portrays

a sense of rescuing the Victim in the song, who

has put themselves in a hopeless position. The

speaker says that even though you've messed

up, I'll help you through it....

Interpretation...

The poem is explaining that even though people close to you

sometimes hurt you or make mistakes, the right thing to do is

help them out of bad situations & make sure that they overcome what is changing them as a person....

"You can understand dependence when you know the maker's hand"

However, sometimes what you have to do is escape the stress that they're causing you, and leave them to fight for themselves alone...

really care about them then you'll

help them overcome their struggles.

The Cave symbolizes the position of the speaker.

He feels trapped inside a bad relationship, & throughout

the song, he works to find his way out.
