Concept Map of Cultural Identity

My name is Ayda Behbahanian. My Father's name is Bijan Behbahanian and my mother's name is Touran Izadimehr. I have one sister and she is a doctor. All of them had a big influence on me .We have been living together since my sister got married and she moved to USA .I missed her a lot and I decided after finishing my bachelor degree move to USA to study my master degree. I took TOEFL test and GRE test and I stived to do my best to achieve my goal. I passed both of them and passing those exams was both one of my strengths and one of the difficulties in my life.

Verbal Communication

All people should develop enough skills and proficiency in Farsi language.

Non- Verbal Communication

People can use body language, personal space, (frequency, quality, and location of touch ), and meaning associated with artifacts , such as clothing, jewelery, emblems, flags, and traffic lights.

Intellectual Modes

The way of learning until university is just what students learn in school and from their teachers, because the use of Internet is not that popular until university.

The skills that valued in Iran are creative thinking, problem solving,building and sailing

Orientation Modes

Persian culture is kind of high-context culture and time is poly chronic which means that people usually do many activities simultaneously .

Architectural arrangements in school and classroom range is always formal.

Our social values are loyalty, honesty, family and religion which are important in ideal way of conduct.

I have been experiencing transitional trauma since I came to the United States because moving is traumatic, especially when you've collected decades of memories and "stuff." In fact, more often than not, the thought of moving -- trying to figure out where to start -- leaves many "paralyzed," putting off moving or even creating a plan until the move becomes much more of a problem than it really has to be

  • Although I am not non of these, but I think that these groups and their events can affect my identity
  • I think that the implication for teaching is that teachers need to consider all of these ethnic group in their class and know how to behave with each of them.
