We will be creating our very own Calaveras in Art . We will be creating collages using bright colors and glitter! What will you decorate your Calaveras with?

It is not a sad tradition but a way to honor the dead.

The Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated in Mexico. It is also celebrated in parts of Latin America and the USA. It is not Halloween, although it is celebrated around the same time, November 1st and 2nd.

Calaveras

Calaveras are decorated skulls. These brightly colored skulls are made of sugar or ceramic. They are used to decorate Day of the Dead altars.

As a part of the Day of the Dead celebration, families build altars in their homes for loved ones who have died.
