Ferdinand Magellan: Portuguese nobleman looking for passage to Pacific

Reached South American & founded the Strait of Magellan

Crew wanted to go back to Spain, but Magellan insisted on continuing

Continued on to Asia & was there for 4 months

Killed in Philippines

They were the first to CIRCUMNAVIGATE (travel the world)
