iMovie is an editing software exclusive to apple products. I edited my music video using iMovie. in the construction stage, I took advantage of its many great features. Particularity its wide variety of transitions that it offers between clips - in order to make the music video run more smoothly. iMovie also allowed me to edit the colors of the paint to stand out more, changing their contrast and saturation. Also time lapses play a big part in our music video we were able to create these on iMovie by speeding up our footage to make it look as though time is going faster, we were also able to edit shots so that they went in reverse to look as though the paint was being removed as the couple release they're not alone and share their issues with eachother.

We decided to use iMovie rather than any other editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro as iMovie is way more simplistic and neither me, Molly or Olivia are confident with editing.

The site 'Blogger' is a blogging site, the site I have posted my entire media coursework onto.

I used this website a lot during the planning stages in order to organize and plan filming days and arrange a schedule for me and my group. I posted my plans on this site and sent it to the cast members in order to see if they were all in agreement in terms of their role, and when and where they had to be. Therefore, this site was also very useful.

After last years work with a video camera we decided to film all our footage on an iPhone 6s plus. As a group we thought what cameras are a pain to carry around as they require you to carry around a charger as well, we also felt they needed constant charging, whereas an iPhone is easily portable as you can just slip it back into your pocket once you're finished. Additionally, we tested out the footage quality from a video camera and an iPhone and we thought that the iPhones footage actually came out better. An iPhone 6 s plus had a 8-megapixel rear camera.

We used Photoshop for the construction of our ancillary products. For the poster I used photo shop to edit the writing onto the picture and I also was able to edit the brightness and sharpness of the paint splatters. We also created our Digipack on Photoshop. Without modern technologies such as this software it would have been hard to create the ancillary products we have to such a level of professionalism.

YouTube video sharing site, making it perfect for uploading VLOG's (video blog's) onto. During the planing stages I uploaded some VLOG's onto my YouTube channel, stating and explaining my pans and ideas.

I found this a very useful and convenient, as writing out a long essay to explain my creative ideas seemed unsuitable and very unnecessarily dragged out, compared to simply talking and explaining them to a camera.

Construction

'Calendar' is a smart phone app. I had never previously used it however in order to stay organized during the planning stages, it became my holy grail.

Everyone in my group used this app to plan everything, whether it be filming days, photo-shoot days or day I needed to update my blog and add a new post. This app helped me stay organized and have good time management, as it would also send me alerts and reminders.

Planning

iCloud is a file transferring software across apple products I used this media technology to transfer files from my phone to my laptop such as the ancillary poster and my footage from filming, in order to edit and upload to Blogger.

This was very handy as it was a quick and easy process. I didn't need to spend a long time emailing myself many different photos - with iCloud I could transfer them within seconds.

Whatsapp is a free messaging service which allows you to create group chats, and share files etc with each other.

I used this app to create a group chat with the rest of my group and the cast members to share regular updates and discuss times when people were free to film and what they would need to bring to filming.

We used an iPhone to film our audience feedback for our rough cut, main cut and ancillary tasks. Using an IPhone meant we were able to go round the sixth form quickly and easily to film peoples responses to our media products in order for us to gain audience feedback. Using an iPhone meant people didn't have to get our a pen and paper and write their responses down.

Additionally, Olivia used an iPhone to film herself answering evaluation question three which was successful as it meant she could speak flauntly to the camera expressing he ideas rather than trying to write them down.

Evaluation

YouTube is a very popular online video sharing website. Anyone can upload any type of video onto it. Music artists use it to upload their music videos, which made it a perfect site to research these videos and find out more about them to get some inspiration for my own.

Using YouTube was a major part of the research process. I used it from the beginning right through to the end. In terms of research, I used it to look into different media products to decide which coursework brief I actually wanted to take. When I chose the music video brief I immediately began researching student and professionally made music videos for research and inspiration, I also used it to watch the music videos I textually analyzed.

YouTube was not only good for watching videos but it was also good for finding out the videos audience feedback. I learned a lot about the popularity of different style videos - e.g. linear videos with flashbacks etc - just from looking at the amount of views the likes/dislikes ration and some of the top comments. This helped me learn more about my target audience and what the public in general want and enjoy from a music video.

How did you use media technologies in the construction, research, planning and evaluation stages?

iMovie is an editing software exclusive to apple products. Olivia used this to edit together her VLOG style evaluation question three and i was also used to edit together evaluation question two. Olivia wanted to keep her evaluation question simple but add an affect to the footage and cut certain parts out where sh found herself stuttering. iMovie was the perfect software to create a basic but professional looking finish.

Google is the biggest online search engine in the world. Anyone with access to the internet can research anything they wish on this site, and they will most likely find what they're looking for.

I used Google in the research stages to learn more about different narrative theories and to find out about what different artists had to say about their music videos, such as Coldplay for their music video Fix You.

I also found that google was also a brilliant search engine to use to search for images, so during the research for my ancillary tasks I used google to look at and analyze different digipaks and magazine adverts that were professionally made, so that I could learn form them and get inspiration from them. For my digipak I got ideas from the Stone Roses.

For my final evaluation question answer- this question - as you c, I have used 'Prezi'. Prezi is an online presentation software and I think it is a perfect, more fun and creative way of making a power point, which is why i have chosen it to use for this answer.

Research

Google images is the largest image search engine in the world. I used this to find images to use on my evaluation questions, particularly for one and four. For example, here I downloaded the images of the Google logo above from Google images. Also, for evaluation question one when I was mentioning examples of different artists work I would use images to help me explain - these images came from Google images,

For evaluation question three I created a power point. PowerPoint is a software I have grown up using therefore I am very confident when it comes to using this software and knowing how it works. After had created the power point I struggled to think of a way I could upload this power point to my blog, however due to modern day technology was able to save the power Point as a video and upload it to YouTube and uploaded the video to my blog!

Facebook is an online social media website where you can communicate with people who you have listed as your friends on the site. SurveyMonkey is an online survey site, as the name would suggest. You can create a survey on it, and send the link to anyone so that they can complete it, After the results are in, the site lets you analyze what people have said.

On Facebook I would post my media product - whether that be my ancillary tasks or music video, and I would generate a lot of open comments. Thiis was useful as I could see what my friends and family thought about my media products and ideas.

When I wanted the comments to be more specific I used SurveyrMonkey. This was particularity good as I could ask my own specific questions, and the audience could answer anonymously meaning their answer would most likely be truthful - so I could receive as much constructive criticism as possible.
