Culture

We can go back to the Middle Passage when our ancestors had put their lives on the line. Slaves have endured so much to get us where we are today!

The centrality of the struggle of the African American people is rooted in a culture of struggle and resistance that made it possible to survive the horrors of slavery. Although we have overcome slavery we still have a little more to go.

Activist

Activist such as Frederick Douglas, Henry Higland Garnet, Martin Luther King Jr, and Malcolm X have fought for us to receive equal rights and to be liberated. Although each person's aproach was different, rather they were peacefully or hands on, all wanted to free us from any worries the whites held upon us.

African American Identity&Culture

Struggle to uplift culture & erase racism

There is an everyday stuggle with upholding African American culture and traditions. There are several reasonings behind this which can be surrounded by the issue of race itself.

Ever since slavery whites have been afraid of our power and ability. With any chance they get they will try to prevent us from prospering in any matter. They know the things that African Americans are capable of. This is where the envy takes place.

White Washed

Check out this video about te controversy of the struggle of black culture. White Woman Vs. Black Woman

Black Culture Imitated

Society has trained blacks to be uncomfortable in the skin they are in. Our racial identity is always attacked. Yet, the white woman can go out and get fake puckered lips and braids and not be under the stero-type of "ghetto."
