The masthead is bold, black and clear to represent the formality of the magazine and the target audience. The arrow going up compliments the word 'up', as well as the sans serif font which is sharp and quick to the eye.
The font is all in black; this helps to attract the target audiences eye straight away infront of the pale grey background.
Codes and conventions for magazine are always the bold and black mastheads, with a sans serif font.
The stories displayed on the front of the magazine are conditional limitations the cover story ‘flatten your belly’ suggests to the readers that if they read what is said and follow they could have a flat ‘belly’
Furniture used in all magazines are roughly the same with each type of magazine for example Cosmopolitan always has the same font for the masthead and the and the use of puffs, whereas furniture for Rap Up fairly basic with a key image just like Cosmopolitan on the front blown up.
This is my school magazine front page, i tried to incorporate the features used in Cosmopolitan in my preliminary task
