Audience

The Annoying Wanderer

Mad Meditations

Our target audience for music video is a niche audience; our artist is an independent artist so the amount of people who are familiar with him will be low. The audience we are aiming at are female and male, aged between 16 to 22. Our target audience means that we will be looking to please the younger generation who live mainly in and around London. The ethnic background of our audience would be from White, Asian, Black and any other our artist doesn't really portray a favorite in his music. Also our audience would mainly be students or young people in part time of full time work. The type of transport they take would mainly be public, so the bus, train or tube. it would also be played in these places because the music is relaxing and the person can enjoy it while they are going from A to B. The type of reading material they would be into is mainly fiction; they would also probably read a lot of music blogs on the internet and music magazines. They would mostly be in contact with other friends on BBM, Twitter, Facebook and any other type of social networking. The type of clothing they would wear would mainly be new and funky so for example Dope Chef, Vans and Obey. They would be called 'Hipsters'. They would shop at H&M, Size and at Brick Lane. Other types of music they would listen to would be Jazz, RnB, and Conscious Hip-Hop.

The video is London based where we explore the urban, cool and colorful streets of London.

Location

Similar Artists

The ideas we got for our video is Lecs Luther - 'fish and chips' it is similar to ours in the sense of type of shots, edits and locations. The locations we have chosen are to reflect our artist and the type of shots are similar to the lecs luther video because we will have a lot of close ups and medium shots.

My artist would be signed to a specialist independent label because he is a new artist and his style of music would appeal to a niche audience because it is quite unique. The song would be available for download only. A similar artist who is signed to another independent label would be Lecs Luther.

How our music video is following Goodwin's theory?

Mile End skate park

Brick Lane

Camden Lock

Hampstead heath park

China town

Carnaby street

Wet End

Alexandra Palace

Recording Studio

Tower Hamlets cemetry park

The music video would follow, Andrew Goodwin's theory because most of it would be based on performance in various ways and there wont be a narrative and no clear meaning would be added. So it follows the style of disjuncture. This would appeal to the audience because the video would be constantly moving maintaining the audiences interests.

The locations such as brick lane, clothing, how they present themselves but within the music video weird things such as masks, use of lens such as fish eye we have found one and are going to use.

We are filming in a number of various locations such as Brick Lane because Brick Lane is quite a colorful area and it reflects the tone of the song, we will be filming in a recording studio because it highlights the effort of the artist. We will also be filming in Hampstead Heath, Chinatown, A skate park in Mile End and in Camden Town.

Why did we chose this song?

Risk Assessment

The Annoying Wanderer - Costume

We chose this song because we want to create an original music video. We decided to ask The Annoying Wanderer if we could help him produce a music video for his track. This is the first video to the song Mad Meditations so there is not an original video, however this allows us to be as creative as we want with the planning and production of the music video.

As a group we decided to focus on visual street art and color, it is important for us to depict the hipster vision into our music video.

We will be filming in a lot of locations for the music video so we have to be incredibly aware of surroundings so we as a group need to make sure that the technical equipment are safe and no in danger of any damages.

We will be filming most of the time in busy streets where there will be a lot of people so we need to make sure that none of the filming equipment gets lost or stolen. This is really important for us because we are held responsible if anything happens to them. Also the group has to be aware that while filming on the streets no one knocks over the camera and damages that.

Lastly the weather could be another contributing factor which may cause damage. So it is important to check the weather before filming and in case it does rain we need to make sure that that they are protected to minimise damage.

The Annoying Wanderer is a hipster who is represents urban London. What is interesting about this artist is that he's not like the conventional rap artist. Our artist will be similar to other rappers in his genre like Lecs Luther and SGP. They are not mainstream artists because they cater to a niche audience who are mainly London based.

The Annoying Wanderer would wear snap back hats and tank tops, and bold, statement pieces and he is interested in fashion and the new cool trends . If we compared his style to currents artist it would be with Rizzle Kicks, and brands he would wear is OBEY, VANS, vintage clothes, supreme etc.
