Direct address
The image on my magazine front cover fits in with the genre of pop music because of the bright colors the model is wearing and the pose she is in. She is smiling which shows her upbeat personality and will draw readers in because they have similar personalities. The image also uses direct address which gains the audiences attention.

Barcode
Every magazine has a barcode on the front page because the back is used for advertising so my barcode is on the front page.
The main cover line is the largest text on the cover after the title and it anchors the meaning of the image and there is also a subline close to it. The image is of the artist that will be in the magazine 'Candy Cane' which shows the readers what will be in the magazine.
