My Film
Distribution
The main image distilling the appeal of the film - its stars, theme/genre, credits and often a tagline to whet audiences' appetites
-Distributors usually have a range of audiovisual 'content' to work with as they prepare campaigns, including short and extended clips, approved by the producers.
-Trailers are probably the single most cost-effective marketing technique, playing on the big screen to a captive audience of active cinemagoers.
- The cost of advertising placed on broadcast channels, outdoor sites and in the press is usually the largest expenditure item in a P&A budget.
- With limited budgets, distributors always consider inventive ways to reach particular audiences film by film
- They strive to create a dialogue with the audience, to gain an active not a passive response. People have grown accustomed to using media how, when and where they wish

Quote from Metrodome
" I think one of the most important things we want to say in these screenings is that cinema can be about so much more than Spiderman and Star Wars and Hollywood blockbusters, there is some really fantastic cinema being made in Britain today and I think Shifty is a fantastic example of that."
What is it about?
- Shifty is a film that evole around drug-dealing, police, but really at the heart of it, it's about two friends getting back together after a long time
- It's about two characters or more, really interacting with each other and growing throughout the film
- This might be one of the true secrets of Shifty's success, is that it's just got a wonderful story at the heart of it although it is obviously quite an urban genre film
Bullet Boy
Shifty
- portrays a story at the heart of British gun crime and its sickening consequences.
- Urban genre film
- Contains strong language but it is what we face and see everyday
What is distribution?
I went on the BFI Screenonline to look at what is meant by ' film distribution'
http://www.screenonline.org.uk/film/distribution/distribution1.html
I have decided to that i would like Metrodome Distribution to distribute our film Faded.
- The third part of the film supply chain, is often referred to as 'the invisible art'
- It is where completed films are brought to life and connected with an audience
- Distribution is about releasing and sustaining films in the market place
- In the UK, distribution is very much focused on marketing and sustaining a global product in local markets.
Why?
Facebook- Metrodome Distribution
- They believed that good films don't have to be big Hollywood blockbusters, don't have to be about high-flying culture
- Instead, can be set in places we live in, and the people can be the kind of characters that we know
What do distributors do
This is the distribution process according to the FDA
