The Space roar is a sound heard in space made by radio waves. In space, no one can hear you scream because there is no medium through which sound can move, but the space roar can be heard.
Mackenzie Davis
The Space roar was discovered in 2006 by NASA when they sent the ARCADE, the Absolute Radiometer for Cosmology, Astrophysics, and Diffuse Emission. ARCADE was meant to be looking for radio signals from distant galaxies, but instead found a strange sound in space.
The space roar is a mystery because nobody knows where the radio signals are coming from.Scientists have managed to figure out that it is not any radio waves that they currently know of, or any of the early stars themselves, or any of our dust particles. It is still an unsolved mystery.

"Instead of the faint signal we hoped to find, here was this booming noise six times louder than anyone had predicted." said Dr. Kogut, "The energy alone that could generate this level of signal is incomprehensible."
