Mary Wollstonecraft was born in 1797 in London. She was only sixteen years old when she ran away with the famous poet Percy Shelley. Shelley was older than her and already married. When his wife committed suicide, Shelley married Mary. Married to a famous poet, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley was herself a talented author, and produced insightful works. Her own life was difficult as many people close to her died, including her children and her husband. She traveled and wrote until she died in her 50s from brain cancer. She is buried in London.
