Digipak
The digipak represents the music video very well, I used the symbolic images for our digipak because they had meaning for example the graffiti of the message saying "life is too short" This relates to the artist expressing the feeling that you should cherish your life with your love ones because you never know what will ever happen.
One of the frames with the mother with her arms out behind the background of the estates was Photoshop. It matches well with the music video because a viewer will be able to understand the image once they have watched the music video.
Magazine Cover
This is an example of the use of black and white in our music video, this is a establishing shot showing where the artist is from which also shows the passing of time.
Most of ideas we got for our magazine is from our music video, some scenes were in black and white which shows the passing in time. I wanted to keep this whilst designing my magazine cover. The use of black and white in this magazine is to show all the memories and the artist is looking back as you can see, reflecting on his past with his mother whilst growing up. It also conforms with the convention of a soul music video because usually you will see a soul music video in black and white or either in simple colors. For example Ordinary people by Maxwell
