  • Who is Picasso?

He studied Art in La Coruña, Barcelona and Madrid. His father passed on to him his love of doves and bulls.

Picasso liked discovering new ways of painting and being open to new ideas.

1900: He travelled to Paris with his friend Carlos Casagemas, who died in 1901. Picasso expressed his sadness using different tones of BLUE.

After a while he fell in love and he began to paint everything using PINK. He also spent a lot of time at the circus and he painted harlequins, jugglers and clowns.

1917: Picasso married Olga Khokhlova

Picasso liked doing this type of drawing, using just one line, without taking the pen or pencil off the paper from start to finish.

A period of war and isolation, a new change took place in Picasso's life. He was painting human faces and figures that looked like monsters.

1937: The Basque city of Guernica was bombed and destroyed during the Spanish Civil War. Picasso painted in a month his best-known work of the 20th century: Guernica.

Picasso also discovered African masks and classical Italian Art. He worked on stage sets and costumes for theatre and ballet.

He started painting a new style called CUBISM.

Pablo Picasso died when he was 92 years old in Mougins (France). He had created more than 13000 paintings.
