Conclusion

I needed to insure I used the majority of the conventions used in action films as to make it easily recognisable for what genre it is. However at the same time I don't want it to become over predictable and to generic for the viewer to the point where it becomes boring. The three main conventions which I have used technically are: 1 use of high and low camera angles to give the hero and villain clear definition of who’s who. 2 I have used a variation of fast and slow shots to add drama and suspense to the film. 3 I have used moving shots intertwined with stationary shots which give the chase though the woods pace and a sense of a POV shot when the hero is running away though the woods the way everything is in and out of focus and moving greatly can represent the panic and danger he is in. Symbolicly: 1 I have chosen to dress them in the appropriate coloured clothing as to represent there characters. 2 The location in which it is set gives a air of mystery unknown and isolation for comparison its not set in the middle of a busy high street. 3 The object of which the chasing man is trying to obtain we do not discover what this is which entices the viewer to watch on in the hope of this being revealed.

think all off these forms and conventions both the ones which are very true to a action film and the ones which are not are delveoped every single time myself or any one els uses them as they are all ways our own spin and take on them no one ever recreates something identically to another film. The main one I feel perhaps which I have developed is the way in which the chase film increases and decreases in pace and intensity.

Forms and conventions are the ways in which the audience manages to interpret the media and make make a choice on what genre it is an example of two extremes would be wether its a romance or a horror film. The two main ways the creator off a film chooses to show forms and conventions is thought technical and symbolic signs. Techniqual is every thing that not actually being filmed, so this is any thing from weather he chooses a long shot or close up a bird eye view or low shot or he chooses to slow mo a shot in editing or speed it up with fast paced editing cutting from shot to shot in just a few seconds. Symbolic signs are the messages and ideas which certain things put into our head. EG. by pressing some one all in bright and clean colours the general interoperation to go with this would be that they are happy and fondly however some one hooded and dressed in dark colours would be associated with evil and not to be trusted.

The biggest complete challenge I have made to a convention would be the fact you don't find out what the object the two men desire is action films tend to have a fairly simple plot and be reasonable upfront and honest about the plot however here you don't find out what it is.
