Where do we find a brief reading

for our lesson?

Use a primary source.

A primary source is first hand evidence. It was there at the time of an event. It is contemporary to the period being studied. Examples of primary sources are speeches, letters, songs, legislation, court decisions, journals/diaries, interviews, artifacts, autobiographies, and photographs.

Any tips on composing

our objective test questions?

Do

Determine the purpose of the assessment and the utilization of the outcome scores.

Match the requirements of the test items to the designated learning objectives.

Write using simple, complete grammar and wording.

Feel free to use Google docs "forms" to survey your students.

Do Not

Ask questions that do not assess one of your learning objectives.

Focus on trivial issues that promote the shallow memorization of facts or details.

Make test items intentionally difficult or tricky.

How do we write 2 essay questions?

  • write a question that will demand at least ten minutes of thought to answer;

  • write a question which has no answer,
  • write a question with a hundred or a thousand answers
  • Ask, "what if" questions;

hypothetical questions.

  • Ask "how",

"which" or

"why" questions.
