How did you use Media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stage?

Construction

We used photoshop to manipulate our magazine cover, by using different tools and experimenting with different fonts and text sizes to try and make it look like a real film magazine cover, as much as possible and to also try and portray the genre of the film by making the image come out at you, trying to show that it is a dance film.

Final product

We used i Movie 11 to edit what we had filmed together, in some cases we had to add two scenes together so the trailer looked more fluid and sometimes we had to crop the mis-en-scene down to size to cut mistakes we made filming out or so we could make our final product as effective as possible

We used garageband to layer in music in our trailer, to fit in with different dance routines when suited, we also had background music when there wasn't dancing and a dramatic sound at the beginning when the trailer zooms into the dance competition poster. The noises and sounds we included were:

Research

We used youtube to research dance and parody trailers and find common conventions within them that we could apply to our own trailer, it was quite difficult because the only other existing dance parody trailer was Dance Flick and so we had a look at both dance flick trailers and parody trailers and decided how we would bring the different conventions together in order to fit our film

Planning

We used blogger to plan our filming schedule and also to add our plans for our product research for both our trailer and magazine and what we were going to do, and who's jobs were who's to do- making it easy for us to get on with our tasks.

Evaluation

For my evaluation I mainly used prezi which is a much more dynamic way and I was able to link everything together, images to writing to videos also which I found a better way to process my thoughts then if I were to use a notepad form of structure it also enabled me to be more creative and to make my evaluation more intresting to look at by choosing a theme.
