Prezi Tutorials

The video "Prezi in 3 minutes" is the

one I used to learn the basics.

Access the tutorials on the Web site by clicking

the LEARN tab in the top left corner of the site

There are really only six basic steps. Double-click to start typing your text.

Make as many new text items as you like

Quick Tips

Before you get started, collect images you plan to use in your prezi and place them in a folder for easy access.

Roll your Mouse wheel Up to Zoom In and Down to Zoom Out on your text and images

Remember: You can always edit a text block by double-clicking on the text. Here you can also change the font or color and then click OK when done.

Deleting

There are two ways to delete a text box or image. 1. Click on the Plus-sign (+) on the Zebra and choose Delete, or 2. Select anything on the canvas (picture or text) and then press the DELETE key on your keyboard.

Storyline (Path)

After you've added and arranged your text and images, it's time to add the Storyline or Path. Use the zoom buttons or mouse wheel to zoom out, as seeing the "big picture" can help you determine the right path for the ideas in your prezi.

Click on Path, and add your Storyline by clicking on the parts in the order you want to show them. You can change your path, so don't worry.

If you want to change the order of your path, you can Delete All and start again, or drag the unassigned Path Ball (which appears between Path numbers) to the object you want to show.

Have Fun

Now it's time to go and create your first Prezi. Have fun. You may never use PowerPoint again.

Frames

There are four Frame options, including circle and rectange. Then when you want to draw your Path later, you just select the entire path as one object.

Click on the Frames menu and choose an option from which to group your similar items

Menu Keyboard Shortcuts

Adding Images

The Prezi you're watching contains many different Frames

  • When you're ready to add images, you can simply click Insert on the menu in the upper left, and click on the image you want to use.
  • Once the image appears on the canvas, you can click on the image and use the zebra to move, size, or rotate it.
  • Quickly bring up the Path menu by pressing the "P" key on your keyboard.
  • Bring up the Frame menu by pressing "F"
  • Bring up the Insert menu with "I" and
  • The Shapes menu with the "S" key

The Transformation Zebra

If you don't like a Frame, go to the top right corner and click "Undo"

What ever direction the Zebra's lines go, that's the direction your text will go.

Rotate text with the outer ring. Scale with the inner ring.

This text box is Centered

Use the Zebra to transform the text (bigger, smaller, rotate, change font style, add bullets, alignment options, etc.)

This is a Zebra

Sharing with Others

On the Share tab, you can give others the ability to view or edit your prezi, and obtain an embed code to easily add the prezi to your blog, classroom Web site or Moodle course, for instance.

Showing and Presenting Your Prezi

When you're ready to Present, move into presentation mode by clicking on Show. Step through your Prezi with the arrow buttons or arrow keys (on your keyboard).
