Is/Ought Fallacy

This fallacy argues that something is right (or wrong) because that's the way it already is.

Example 1

People have argued that illegal immigration is bad because it's illegal.

Example 2

War is good for us because conflict is a human instinct.

In the end, these all follow the same, broken, is/ought reasoning.

Example 3

We don't have limits on the amount of caffeine in drinks. That's why we should not regulate it.
