The Marshmallow Challenge!
The Challenge
Build the tallest free-standing (can stand without help) structure out of 20 sticks of spaghetti, one yard of tape, one yard of string, and one marshmallow.
The hardest part?
The marshmallow needs to be on top.
Materials
• 20 sticks of spaghetti
• 1 yard of string
• 1 marshmallow
• 1 yard of masking tape
Rules and Regulations
1. Build the Tallest Freestanding Structure:
That means the structure cannot be hanging from a higher structure, like the ceiling. You may tape it to the table.

3. Use as Much or as Little of the Kit:
The team can use as many or as few of the 20 spaghetti sticks, as much or as little of the string or tape. The team cannot use the paper bag as part of their structure.
5. The Challenge Lasts 18 minutes:
When time runs out, HANDS UP!!
2. The Entire Marshmallow Must be on Top:
Cutting or eating part of the marshmallow disqualifies the team.
4. Break up the Spaghetti, String or Tape:
Teams are free to break the spaghetti, cut up the tape and string to create new structures.
