Motivation

Many students are not motivated to write print-based texts.

Digital media is exciting and intrinsically motivating. And they take as much--or more--effort to produce.

This presentation is taking longer to produce than a 3 page essay.

And more people will read it.

Identifying the main idea of a video might force students to look at the whole context, rather than pointing to the first sentence of a paragraph.
