Location describes where something is.

There are two types of location - Absolute or Exact location and Relative Location

Place describes the physical or human characteristics that make a location unique.

Areas that share common characteristics. Physical and climate regions vary in the world and especially in North America.

Explains how and why people and things move and are connected. This includes the movement of people, goods, and ideas. Nomadic tribes would follow their food source. As it depleted in one area they would move to another.

Describes the relationship between people and their environment. Throughout history, people have adapted to and changed their natural surroundings. Native Americans in the Southwest interacted through the process of irrigation.

How have YOU adapted to and changed your natural surroundings?
