NATIONAL COSTUME
The national costume of New Zealand is the Māori clothing. Māori garments were used to protect modesty and to show the wearer’s status. Nowadays traditional clothes are wearing in official ceremonies.

The typical dance in New Zealand is the Haka and the music are the words of a haka that often describe ancestors and events in the tribe's history accompanied with some instruments and body percussion.

Rugby League
- It is a full contact sport played by two teams of thirteen players on a rectangular grass field.
OLYMPIC GAMES
- Our national Rugby League team are the Warriors.
- Simon Mannering is the current captain of the Warriors
Rugby Union
- Played in New Zealand as far back as 1870
- The All Blacks are the national rugby team, and are one the best rugby teams in all of the world.
- Up until 2016, Richie McCaw was the current captain of the All Blacks, and a legend in rugby.
- New Zealand first competed as an independent nation at 1920 Summer Olympics.
- New Zealand athletes have won a total of 118 medals in total and is at number 34 on the all-time Olympic Games medal table.
- The most succesful sports are rowing and athletics with 24 medals each and sailing with 22
- The sole Winter Olympics medal is the silver medal won by Annelise Coberger in alpine skiing at the 1992 Winter Olympics.

- Netball is the most popular women's sport in New Zealand.
- The Silver Ferns are New Zealand's national Netball team, and are one of the leading Netball teams in the world.

- Cricket is a popular national summer sport in New Zealand.

- Cricket is a game played with two teams of 11 players on an oval-shaped field, with a rectangular 22-yard long pitch in the middle.
- Our national Cricket team are the Black Caps.

- The NPC are responsible for preparing and leading Para-Athletes to international competitions and the Paralympic Games.
