Here's a basic example of a storyboard
this video shows us that storyboarding IS used by film makers, and is considered a most valuable tool for making movies.
this one is by Adam Beer (http://adambeer.co.uk/nickelodeon-lego-city, retrieved 2012). His website states that this storyboard was for "Nickelodeon Creative Services – Lego City storyboard to illustrate campaign concept where kids have to build their own LEGO vehicles in order to appear in a future commercial".
