Target Audience
Research
We did the majority of our research on 16-17 year olds. Asking them polls such as,
'What do you think our main character should look like?'
and
'What do you find scary and therefore look for in a horror film?'.
Characters
Due to our killer and protagonist both being teenage girls, this will be scarier for our target audience as it starts them thinking, how anyone could be there killer.
EVEN THEIR FRIEND SITTING NEXT TO THEM AS THEY WATCH....
Who Are Our Target Audience?
The audience for our film opening is predominately 15-21 years old. The teenage market.
Our overall Target Market
Certificate Rating
Our film certificate is therefore a 15 rating due to the depiction of murder and the graphic nature of the make-up.
A 15 certificate contains any of the following:
- strong violence
- frequent strong language (e.g. 'f***').
- portrayals of sexual activity
- strong verbal references to sex
- sexual nudity
- brief scenes of sexual violence or verbal references to sexual violence
- discriminatory language or behaviour
- drug taking
As these are rife within horror films, we feel that our 15 certificate is appropriate.
