Welcome to the

Young people's sport panel

Prezi presentation!

Join us on our journey through the first year of the sport panel

You'll find out what we've been up to so far...

...and what we've got planned...

...as we look to influence and shape the future of sport in Scotland...

...and raise the profile of sport

As always, look us up on Twitter for the latest on the sport panel...

But first, an introduction...

16 young people

What have we been up to?

178

The first meeting of the panel was at Glenmore Lodge

We took part part in a range of activities, from team building exercises to brainstorming sessions...

Together we decided our values...

...and started to plan for how we could 'make it happen'

The articles helped raise the profile of sport to young people:

Page views more than doubled when comparing July-Dec 2011 to the same period in 2012, with 44% more sport content than prior period

In August the sport panel contributed towards the consultation process on the Children and Young People's Bill

The bill is key to the Scottish Government's aim of making Scotland the best place for children and young people to grow up

We met Shona Robison MSP, Minister for Commonwealth Games and Sport, ahead of the launch of the Youth Sport Strategy

The sport panel will be key contributors to the Strategy, as we seek to influence and shape the future of sport

This year the sport panel had a large part to play...

...from hosting workshops to Mc'ing and presenting awards

Check out sportscotlandTV for all the highlights: http://www.youtube.com/user/sportscotlandtv

We went to the Edinburgh International Climbing Centre at Ratho for our Developement Day in January

We had another busy day of activity, from...

...brainstorming...

...to media training...

...and a bit of climbing as well.

We've been putting that media training to good use...

Lead 2014 aims to develop the leadership skills of young Scots in the build up to Glasgow 2014

Several sport panel members helped out at the Lead 2014 workshops

We've got plenty in the pipeline over the next few months

We're looking forward to working with the likes of Glasgow 2018 and Scottish Disability Sport...

...as well as making big changes to the sport section of the Young Scot website

Keep an eye on the Young Scot website and Twitter for the latest sport panel developments

So hopefully you've enjoyed finding out about the first year of the Young people's sport panel
