Daulatpur Saturia Tornado

where & when

Now I will tell you about the most deadly tornado of all, Daulatpur Saturia. This tornado took place in India, Bangladesh Dhaka, specifically Manikganj. The day it took place on was April 26th 1989. The death toll was estimated about 1,300 people.80,000 were homeless and 12,000 were injured. The storm lasted for 1-1.5 hrs. The reason there was such a high number of deaths is because the residents homes are so weak even a strong wind can trample it over! The length of the tornado is recorded to be 1 mile long and it traveled 50 mph!

Now I will tell you what tornadoes get measured in.The fujita scale is a measurment used to measure destruction made by tornadoes.Daulatpur Saturia was not rated because of their poor built houses! But if it was rated it would be a very dangerous storm.there are 6 measurements f-0, f-1, f-2, f-3, f-4, and f-5 below shows a diagram for mph for each measurement

Have you ever wondered what happens to a city after a natural disaster well I'll tell you. Countless trees were knocked over and many houses were destroyed!Every single thing in it's path was destroyed! An article writer from Bangladesh observer stated "The devastation was so complete that barring some skeletons of tree's there was no signs of standing infrastructures".

1)Tornadoes can form anywhere cold and warm air collide not just in a thunder storm

2)daulatpur is a city as well as saturia

3) Both those citys were going trough a drought for 6 months

4)bangladesh has tornadoes every 5-6 years

5)the cool air from Bangladesh mixes with the air from the himalayas which causes the tornadoes every 5-6 years

if you didn't know every 5-6 years the warm air from the Himalayas mixes with the cool air from Bangladesh.Which causes tornadoes to form. One day the air from the Himalayas reached the cool air from bangladesh which started a cyclone of air which eventually reached the bottom and Daulatpur Saturia was formed

After the tornado hit there was a lot of damage! To rebuild all the damages it cost about $1 to $2 million! during this tragedy every single structure was devastated!the reason there were no structures standing is because the structures in daulatpur and saturia did not have very strongly made structures
