Top 3 Takeaways
1 New Initiative for ASCC
- Lead Imperfectly: "Nobody wants to follow someone who's perfect." Accept yourself with all your leadership flaws and remember to be authentic.
- Find the balance in Peace (me time), People (friends/family), Preparation (plan ahead) and Performance (do my best) Days. Effective professionals remember to schedule time for each day.
- Do A Lot Achieve A Little, Do A Little Achieve A Lot. Our daily habits are what contribute towards the success-or lack of it-in our lives.
- Emphasize the reality that we are all imperfect leaders and that's okay. We all have strengths and weaknesses and as a result we should strive to work collaboratively to yield the best results. Rather than take on all of the responsibilities for ourselves, we should learn to lean on one another for support.

Lessons Learned in Conference
- Plan ahead: Although a relaxed approach to planning has its benefits, remember to be mindful of the need to communicate plans early and manage time accordingly.
- Double check that all costs are covered in advance (for example, the hotel costs) and if there are any measures needed to be taken beforehand.
- Find the balance between empowering and supporting students. Empowering students is trusting their abilities to learn from their own mistakes/ judgements, while supporting is sharing the load/ burden with them.
