My Media Project
Inspiration
Simple colour scheme,
bright colours mixed with
a black and white image
to create contrast
The main focus is on
the main image and the
bold headline at the
top
No large
advertisements
or competitions
Very 'rock' looking
and quite 'rock' like
colours
Smaller arcticles shown
down the side, less
obvious than the main
story
Very simplistic
layout with a close
up of the main image
rather than a long
shot which would not
have as great an
impact
Development
I decided what kind of music my
magazine would be based on and
include. I then used the 'Q'
article shown to the left as
inspiration and based many of the
features of my magazine on it and
others like it
I took pictures of Adam Bennett as
I believed he had the particular style
that would fit perfectly with the
genre of my magazine, the image on my cover was a medium shot and the two used in my contents and my article
were both long shots. I then edited
them in such ways to make them fit
even better with the cover, contents
page and main article I created.
I then created a story and a made up band, making sure each complimented each
other correctly. Much of the story and the style of writing was influenced by many articles from magazines such as 'Q', 'NME' and 'Kerrang!' which made it all the more believable and realistic. Another thing I did was to create smaller stories and competitions which can be seen on my contents page
I went through many stages
of changing the look and style
of my magazine until I was
happy with it as a whole!
Outcome
When I had completed my entire
magazine, I gave it to some friends
to recieve feedback, they told me
good and bad points. They also
suggested aspects that could be
improved that I went onto change
When I had improved
some aspects I then
gave it back to them
and asked them and
range of questions...
I recorded their
answers to the
questions to show
the feedback I
got for my
magazine!
...and here's my final products!
