4. How did you use new media technologies in the construction, and research, planning
and evaluation stages.
During my project I used a variety of technology for my project.
I tried using as many different technologies, mainly to experiment with.
Photoshop
Youtube
Youtube was key to my final project and important when constructing my product throughout. I was able to upload my final film to youtube but also managed to upload other minor production, like editing or cool effect we did. Also we could upload to the maximum resolution via Youtube
For the construction of our poster, we used 'photoshop' and 'in design' for my double page spread. Both these programs I had used before in other projects so I was quite happy and confident with using them. Because I was a little bit more advanced on how to use them, I really wanted to try and experiment with more exciting and challenging techniques to made our ancillary texts to look as professional as possible and show how my technical skills had developed from last year. I decided to use two different programs for the construction of my two pieces as I felt that they had different advantages to suit the two texts. For example in design having helpful grids to exactly line up my double page spread in an accurate and professional manner. Whilst creating my ancillary texts I used google images to search for images that I used in our final poster. We used this to find a texture that we could us for the background of our poster.
Final Cut pro
Final cut pro was one of the editing processes we used for our film. It was the basic editing process we were given by the college. Because it was basic we weren't able to use after effect, which we needed to edit the house blowing up. I used Final Cut Pro in A level so was comfortable when editing. There were still some aspects I was uneasy with however, such as having to transition shot to shot.
Prezi
As you can see from here, I used 'prezi' as a way of presenting my final evaluation. I am completely unaware on how to use this presentation software. I felt that it was a very creative and interesting way of presenting my evaluation. Also it is easy to read and clear to see the links and references I have made. It also allowed me to embed different YouTube clips and screen shots to support my points and this therefore shows my full understanding of it.
