Television is an electronic system of transmitting transient images of fixed or moving objects together with sound over a wire or through space by apparatus that cover light and sound into electrical waves and reconverts them into visible light rays and audible sound.
The first person to produce a working television system was John Logie Baird, a Scotish man who was living in England. His 'televisor' system was based on a rotating disc that Gottlieb Nipkow had produced some 30 years before in Germany. Nipkow saw the potential for the disc but he never developed it into a practical application.
