Are there more rules? Yes, but these are the ones that will make you a stronger writer!! I will be here to help you. Check out some YouTube videos to help review what I have introduced to you today.

You're all getting a lot sharper!

Is this hard? A little bit but nothing in life comes without a little effort.

How to Form Plurals

Most of you think of just adding

the letter s to something to

make it into a plural. In most

cases, you are correct.

es Plurals

There are times when

the rule of just adding an

"s" is a bit more

complicated. Sometimes

you have to add an extra

syllable (es). If there are

nice beaches in Portugal it

is not "beachs". You have

to add the "es" at the end.

The y to i + es rule

If the final sound is y in a word,

you have to follow a simple rule.

You must change the "y" to

an "i" and add "es".

Conside this: If Johnson has a

pony at his cottage, he would

have to get two ponies for

when his best friend Jack visits.

Notice: the last letter

sound of "y" changes to the

letter "i" and we add "es".
