NFL: National FOOTBALL Association

MLB: Major League BASEBALL

  • Founded in 1920 and has 32 teams.
  • The Super Bowl is one of the biggest sporting events in the world and Super Bowl games account for many of the most-watched television programs in American history.
  • Season: September to January
  • The team with the most NFL championships is the Green Bay Packers with thirteen; the team with the most Super Bowl championships is the Pittsburgh Steelers with six.
  • Highest paid 2015: Tony Romo $28 million

NHL: National HOCKEY Association

  • The MLB was founded in 1869 and is composed of 30 teams.
  • HIGHEST season ATTENDANCE of any sports league in the world with more than 74 MILLION spectators in 2013.
  • Season: April to October.
  • Championship game: The World Series.
  • The New York Yankees have won the most World Series titles with 27 total wins. The closest second are the St. Louis Cardinals with 11 total wins.
  • Highest paid 2015: Clayton Kershaw $32.6 million
