your Social Network

My name is Ehab Elagaty.

I have been using LinkedIn since 2005 and I have managed now to be:

  • #1 in Saudi Arabia (along with Egypt & other countries in the Middle East)
  • #3 in Australia (Australia & Saudi Arabia)
  • #4 in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, Palestine, Turkey, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Kuwait, Jordan, Oman, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Israel)

How to rapidly increase your Social Network using LinkedIn

Startting with the following steps

Now lets get into a bit more details, starting with ...

Update (Edit) your Profile

  • Include all your current / previous positions / qualifications

  • you can also import your CV

  • setup an easy to remember profile url such johnsmith, that way your profile can be qouted easily like: www.linkedin.com/in/

  • Incluede things like:

sapnetwork

Update (Edit) your Profile

  • Summary about you

  • Your Objective

  • What you are looking for

  • What you can offer

  • Your websites (work / personal / blogs / CV / ...)

  • Your contact details

  • Your Keywords

Join the most important Groups

Keep on NetWorking and expanding your network

Join the most important Groups

just do a blank search on Groups and select 3-5 of the largest groups appearing on the first page

LinkedIn => Contacts =>

just search for LION on Groups

(such as TopLinked, OpenNetworkers, LION500)

  • Join 3-5 of the largest groups

  • Join 3-5 of the largest LION groups (LinkedIn Open Networkers)

  • Join 10-30 of the largest groups in your country / region / city / profession / industry / area of interest

Search / Contact / Invite Others

just search for other Groups using the keyword of your choice and choose the top 3-5

as there is a limit for joining no more than 50 Groups

Monitor your inbox for invitations to accept

  • => Add Connections => See who you already know by searching your email contacts from (hotmail.com, gmail.com, yahoo.com, aol.com)

  • => Add Connections => Import your desktop email contacts

  • => Add Connections =>Enter Email Addresses

  • => Colleagues

  • => Classmates

  • => People You May Know

  • LinkedIn => Contacts =>

Include your profile in your email signature

Such as:

  • Outlook Toolbar

  • Browser Toolbar

Contact / Invite Others

  • LIONs (LinkedIn Open Networkers)

  • Top connected people in your country / region / city / profession / industry / area of interest
  • Use Advanced Search

Contacts => Add Connections => Import your desktop email contacts

  • Join the TopLinked Group

  • Keep an eye for the TopLinked Invite Me List that gets sent every Tuesday night

  • Import that list to your LinkedIn connections through

  • Follow the steps on LinkedIn to send them all invitations at once (This will allow you send approximately 2,000 invitations at once. 1,500 of them are likely to accept them within a week or so)

  • Keep an eye on the Welcome Invites discussion on the TopLinked group on LinkedIn

  • It is Free to receive the Invite Me List form TopLinked / OpenNetworkers, however you can pay $10/month or $50/year to get listed on that list

along with Sorting by Number of Connections.
