-Tell them to tell me how they are feeling and try to figure out how to fix it." "-Flexiblity

How is it diagnosed?

-Ask whether other family members have bipolar disorder.

-Ask about your recent mood swings and for how long you have had them.

- Perform a thorough exam and order lab tests to look for other illnesses that may be causing the symptoms that resemble bipolar disorder.

-Talk to family members about your symptoms and overall health.

Ask about any health problems you have and any medications you take.

-Watch your behavior and mood.

Poor judgment

-Episodes of mania or depression can be distressing for family.

-Bizarre and odd behaviour in a close relative or friend, which is out of character, can cause a lot of upset.

-family and friends are often of great help in alerting a doctor or other healthcare worker if symptoms of a new episode of illness develop.

-Support groups may also provide support for family and carers.

-Might make the family think different on how to approach child when misbehavior happens.
