A music magazine double page spread usually has one main image that stands out and is usually placed on the left of the double page to show the reader who the articles about. My product meets this convention however my image is on the right of the two pages as I felt it looked more aesthetically pleasing.

Bylines are put under images to give credit to the photographer or under text to give credit to the writer. With My double page spread I didn't use a by-line to give credit to the photographer however I used the standfirst to give credit to the writer of the text.

The main image can bleed accross two pages to show continuity to the next page and also to make the page look a lot more aesthetically pleasing. My magazine makes use of this convention and the main image bleeds slightly onto the other page, I did this as I felt it helped link the two pages togther nicely.

A stand first is used which gives the reader an insight as to what the articles talks about. I used this convention in my magazine and I also used an informal mode of address to do so.

The artists name is usually highlighted and in big writing to stand out to the reader and show them who the articles about.

My magazine follows this convention as I used a contrasting colour of yellow on the dark grey background for the title "Blink-182", it works very well at making it stand out over the other text on the page.

The page number, website and name of the magazine featured at the bottom of the page. My magazine double page spread follows this basic convention and features the website "www.Rock.co.uk" and the page number at the bottom corner of each page.

Lots of writing is used, which is usually in 3-4 columns. This is apparent with my double page spread, I also chose to use white for the main text of the page to contrast with the dark background and make it easier to read.

As you can see, My magazines double page spread follows many of the Basic conventions of a double page spread.
