Transcript of Seven Main Forms of Energy

Forms of Energy
The main forms of energy are radiant, nuclear, electromagnetic, electrical, chemical, thermal, and mechanical.
Radiant
Radiant energy is the energy of electromagnetic waves.
Nuclear
Nuclear energy is the energy found in the nucleus of an atom. This form of energy is a product of nuclear fission and fusion.
Electromagnetic
Energy that is released out of an object in the form of an electrical and magnetic wave.
Electrical
Energy that is produced by the flow of an electrical current through a conductor.
What is energy?
Seven Main Forms of Energy

By:Esperanza and Alyssa
Energy is the potentiality of an object to do work or cause change.
Chemical
Thermal
Mechanical
Conversions
Conclusion
Conversion Example

Nuclear Fission- Occurs when a nucleus splits apart into smaller fragments.
Energy that is released during a chemical reaction between substances.
Energy that is released in the form of heat.
Energy produced when an object has moved. Mechanical energy is found in two forms kinetic and potential.
A conversion is what takes place when one energy form is changed into another.
Nuclear Fusion- Occurs when two smaller atoms bond together and form a larger atom.
Potential Energy- Energy that is stored.
Kinetic Energy- Energy that is being used.
Energy is all around us no matter where you are on Earth. Even your simple daily activities use energy.
