Lightning begins as static charges in a rain cloud; winds are very turbulent
Water droplets in the bottom of the cloud are caught in the updrafts and lifted up higher and the much colder atmosphere freezes the
Ice going down meets the water coming up, electrons are stripped off

Don't be near any items that conduct electricity
If you happen to be caught outside, put your heals together this way if lightning strikes the ground it will go through your foot and transfer to the other foot
