It is necessary to translate the Thomas Bridges ethnolinguistic dictionary into Spanish as the potential learners of Yaghan language have Spanish as their mother tongue. In this manner, the Spanish translation will facilitate their learning process by providing them with a more direct access to a valuable didactic material and linguistic resource. Even more, the translation of Bridges’ lexicographic work will constitute a contribution to the protection and revitalization of the Yaghan language, which currently is severely endangered
