Chronic inability to fall asleep or stay asleep for an adequate length of time
Less than 1% of adults have sleep terror disorder.
1% - 6% of children in the United States experience sleep terror disorder at some point of their childhood.
Sleep paralysis
A condition in which, upon waking, a person is aware of the surroundings but is unable to move.
One half of all people are believed to experience sleep paralysis once in their life.
78% of women experienced more disturbed sleep during pregnancy than at any other time.
An immediate awakening from an extreme nightmare that takes place during non-REM sleep, usually with good recollection of the dream.
