The Hero's Journey
Stage One
Mysterious Birth or Origin
The book does not refer to Katniss' birth. It only refers to her childhood.
Stage Two
Raised in Exile
Katniss is raised in a poor family that lives in a poor district, and it is a common occurrence for somebody to die there. Her family does not get enough food, so she has to go hunt illegally in the forest nearby.
Stage Three
Call to Adventure
The Challenges Katniss has to face in the Hunger Games include:
Running from the Cornucopia
Escaping the tracker jackers Rue's death
Helping Peeta
Killing Cato
Stage Ten:
The Abyss
The abyss takes place when the announcement is made that there can only be one winner for the Hunger Games.
Stage Eleven:
The Transformation
This is when Katniss and Peeta are both about to eat deadly nightlock berries when they get stopped by the gamekeepers and they are both declared winners of the Hunger Games.
Introduction
The Hunger Games
The Main Character is Katniss Everdeen. The adventure begins when her sister gets chosen for the Hunger Games.
Stage Five
Mentor
Katniss' mentor is a drunk man named Haymitch.He does not inspire her that much, and her dresser Cinna inspires her more. Haymitch's only advice is to stay alive and to get sponsors.
Stage Eight:
Talisman
Departure
Katniss is called to adventure when her sister is chosen to be a tribute in the Hunger Games. Katniss makes the choice to volenteer as tribute.
Stage Four
Threshold Crossing
Katniss' first obstacle is working with Haymitch and Effie because she hates the capitol.
Katniss receives a golden mockingjay pin before she leaves District 12 and she keeps it with her for the whole duration of the Games.
Stage Nine :
The Challenges
Stage Six:
Threshold Guardian
The threshold guardian is Cinna because he emotionally prepared Katniss for the Hunger Games.
Stage Seven:
Threshold Helpers
The threshold helpers were Effie Trinket and Katniss' prep team. They provide some assistance for her.
Stage Twelve:
The Revelation
Katniss is warned that the capitol is angry with her outsmarting them.
Stage Thirteen:
The Return
Katniss and Peeta return to District 12 as victor, and live in Victors Village.
