Transcript of Electrician

Calvin Zhou Electrician Application Process To apply for any of the electrical apprenticeship programs, you must first complete an application form. Your application will be evaluated to determine whether or not you meet the local program’s basic requirements. If you meet the basic requirements, you will be scheduled to take the NJATC aptitude test battery — if required. If you obtain a qualifying score on the test battery, you will be scheduled for an oral interview. You will be interviewed by a committee representing both NECA and the IBEW. Based on the interview, and a review of your qualifications, you will receive an overall ranking. Your name will be placed on an eligibility list for two (2) years. As new positions become available in the apprenticeship program, names will be taken off the respective eligibility list in order of the ranking score. If you are not selected to begin an apprenticeship during that two-year period, you will need to reapply if you are still interested. Job Description Electricians are responsible for installing electrical systems wherever they are needed. They may also be involved in the design and layout of electrical systems for new structures. Working Condition Job Appeal I like this job simply because it's a hands on job. Although
many other jobs are hands on too. This one just seems
to interest me the most. Education
Requirements High school diploma 4-5 year apprenticeship Salary Apprentice Level First year $9-$17 an hour Second year to fifth year $11-$27 an hour Journey Level $18-$34 an hour Independent Electrical Contractor $50,000 to $100,000 a year Electricians typically work 8-hour days, 5 days a week. .They work in people's homes, on construction sites, in factories, and in electrical utility stations. They may be required to bend or squat for long periods, in order to work on hard-to-reach wiring. There is always the threat of electrical shocks, but as long as proper safety procedures are followed, the number of accidents will remain low. Electricians don't need to travel a long distance to work. Current Opening There aren't really people advertising for this job.
We have to search for it by ourselves. Preparation To be an electrician, you must be kinaesthetic. Careers
