Does advertising creates artificial needs?
Yes it does...
Ads make people buy things that they wouldn't normally. This is seem frequently with food. Often people come home from the grocery store with many things that they didn't intend to purchase.
What our minds capture
Ads have a way of seeping into our heads and making us feel like we really have to have something.
illness relationated with advertising
Research shows a correlation between the media’s unattainable standards of beauty and this rampant epidemic of body dysmorphia.
About 90 percent of women overestimate their body size.
One study showed that 69 percent of girls stated that magazine models influenced their idea of the perfect body shape. On television, half of the ads aimed at women speak about physical attractiveness.

Once a lower need is satisfied, a new need is created.
You always want more
Repetition
If you have plenty of air, you think about water. If you have plenty of water, you think about food. If you have plenty of food, you think about shelter and warmth.
Most people in the civilized world have all of these, which creates artificial needs like achievement.
The repetition of advertising on television, Internet and newspapers illustrates the capacity of companies to create a need in the consumer’s mind.
Cheaters...
Many companies try to sell their products by showing false things and showing discounts etc. This only creates unwanted demands. It is just a wastage of money. The products are not as good as they are shown on T.V.

Background
Advertising makes people do and buy things that they would'nt use or do normally, but sometimes, people fall in the advertising traps thinking that certain product wouls be the best thing for their health or life
General Opinion
So far, we are in favor. Ads make us want things we dont necesarilly need. They make you keep wanting more. Once you cover that need a new one comes up and we are never satified.
How can we come to a solution to this controversy?
Made people realize that they need to search information and search more about what they are about to buy or do before they actually buy it or do it, because ads are no trustfull enough for us to use them as a
🁎 Advertising permits to design the need of consumer, and also changes attitudes.

🁎 ads creates desires that we don't need, but they are making us feel that actually we do, such as Coke, McDonalds, new cars, new phones etc.
